Academic English Program (AEP):

The Academic English Program is designed to help international students make rapid progress toward their academic language goals. Students wishing to attend an American university benefit from this program.

  • Four levels of intensive English study are offered in addition to the Beginning English Program.

  • Twenty to twenty-five hours of instruction per week.

  • Intermediate - Levels One and Two
    Classes consist of grammar, oral communication, and written communication. Full-time students at the Intermediate level can expect to have twenty-five hours of instruction per week.

  • Advanced - Levels Three and Four
    Classes consist of grammar, oral communication, written communication, selected topics, and capstone courses for undergraduate and graduate students. Full-time students at the advanced level can expect to have about twenty-two hours of instruction per week.

  • Academic classes are complemented by conversation partners, fields trips, and activities.

  • Students who successfully complete Levels One through Four will receive a Certificate of Completion.

  • Students who have completed the Intermediate Level and do not plan to study at an American university may choose English for International Communication.
